Simply Dance is heading to New York this summer!
Six of our students have won scholarships to take part in a seven day summer school and be trained by top US choreographers.
Freya Barlow, Anastasia Rochiletti, Taylor Dickman, Charlotte Harrison, Evi Palmer and Kobbi Dickman all train with us in Carlton. Kobbi was only two when he started and Charlotte just three years old.
The six are all part of the company, Simply Dance Elite, but now need your help.
To make their NYC dream come true, they need to raise around £10,000 to fund their week in the Big Apple.
The cash will cover flights to New York and accommodation – they’ve already been awarded the scholarships, worth over $3,000, to take part in Liberate Artists’ Phoenix Fire 2019.
We’re now asking local businesses, friends and family to help out by making a donation and supporting lots of exciting fundraising events. Already planned is a well-being day here at the Carlton studio.
During the seven days they’ll be lucky enough to be trained by choreographers from hit US show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, from Broadway theatres and choreographers for US stars including Will-i-am and Lady Gaga.
Charlotte said: “I’m always proud of all my students and the hardwork, dedication and passion that the elite group put into every dance and every rehearsal is paying off.
“I want all my students, even the little tots in baby ballet and baby street to aspire to be just like the six heading to NYC this summer – and never lose their love for dance.”
